Privacy Policy – BlurLock (Privacy Blur by Oflox®)

Last updated: 23 December 2025
BlurLock is a privacy-first Chrome extension that blurs sensitive information locally on your device.

No data collection No tracking No ads No remote servers 100% local processing
BlurLock does not collect, store, transmit, or sell your personal information. All detection and blurring happens locally in your browser.

1) Information We Collect

BlurLock does not collect any personal data, browsing history, or webpage content.

We do not run ads, analytics, or trackers inside the extension.

2) How BlurLock Works

BlurLock detects and blurs sensitive text patterns such as:

  • Email addresses
  • Phone numbers
  • Aadhaar-style numeric patterns

This processing happens only on the page you are viewing and stays on your device.

3) Use of Chrome Storage

BlurLock uses Chrome storage only to save your settings, such as:

  • Whether blur is enabled or disabled

No sensitive information, browsing history, or page data is stored.

4) Permissions Usage

Host Permissions (<all_urls>) are required so BlurLock can detect and blur sensitive text across any website you visit.

These permissions are used only to apply privacy blurring locally and are not used for tracking or data collection.

5) Screen Sharing & Public Use Protection

BlurLock is especially helpful when:

  • You are screen recording or screen sharing (Zoom, Google Meet, etc.)
  • You work in cafés, offices, libraries, or public places
  • You use shared screens or work around children or other people nearby

In these situations, blurred data remains hidden to reduce accidental exposure.

6) No Remote Code

BlurLock does not load or execute any remote code.

All scripts and functionality are packaged within the extension and run locally in your browser.

7) Data Sharing

BlurLock:

  • Does not share data with third parties
  • Does not sell or monetize user data
  • Does not transmit personal data to external servers

8) Children’s Privacy

BlurLock does not knowingly collect any data from children under 13.

Since no personal data is collected, it is safe to use in shared environments.

9) Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy to reflect improvements or legal requirements.

Any updates will be posted on this page with an updated effective date.
